Club History
Panthers Softball Club was formed, initially in 1958, by a group of girls (led by Dale Woodforth) who played under the Morningside Australian Rules banner and were called 'Morningside Panthers'.
They started with one team and slowly progressed to six teams by the mid 1960's. After winning the A2 Premiership in 1965/66 Panthers were promoted to A-Grade and although the club only has a few premierships under their belt in this grade, the club has been very strong from A1 down to our juniors and all grades have played in many grand finals, winning our fair share.
The club has grown consistently over the years, which is a tribute to the tireless work of the volunteers, without whom the Panthers would not be the club it is today.
